heres a few pics for everyone. now for the upcoming job i did a test spot on. for anyone curious in doing some hardcore polishing, heres a few steps in doing so.this is raw aluminum with a grain. first i sanded it with a palm sander using 320 grit . then i moved on to hand sanding with 600, then 800 grit.(going with the grain) afterwards i cut with a red airway, and the tripoli bar to finish it, i cut it again with a white treated airway, and white bar. afterwards i used a fine abrasive polish and...... ok. alittle more polishing stuff...lol these tanks werent bad, therefore i started with a green airway and tripoli rouge moving from right to left, i make my way down the tank. it will leave the nasty looking trail like in the middle. once you get to the bottom, make your way back up going in half steps your result will be like the left side of the tank now on to the finer cut. i used a white airway untreated and a light blue jewlers compound. in this pic the left is done, right is still on first cut stage. this step will improve your depth and remove some cutting scratches. here is the stainless breathers on the same truck. bottom is cut with white untreated and light blue jewlers compound. top is untouched. just showing the difference it makes. and heres the finished product. hope this is useful to some, and i hope the rest of you enjoy it anyway...if not, you suck.
