I dont know how you guys do it but this year I got it figured all out so I might as well share... my ballin-ass method of cleaning car interiors goes as follows:
1. grab your vacuum cleaner with the little round brush end, (I washed my brush end with soap and water real good and let it dry before I used it on my car)
anyway I vacuumed all the dust from the dashboard and seats and door panels, center console etc
2. Then grab that lint free cloth, damp with water and wipe all the windows from the inside.. then while theyre still sort of wet shoot the windex on there, try not to overspray all over the dash and shit.. and wipe it down real good with a clean like hand towel
3. Then with that damp lint free cloth wipe down all the dash surfaces and door panels and cluster and everything...
4. I then kinda washed the cloth with laundry detergent in my hands and ran back out. Grab the VIM and just use like the smallest amount, and with a damp cloth just wipe the areas of the door panels and shit that are actually dirty from like people touching them.. I did the top of my dash and the center arm rest thing and crap.. Dont use it on like buttons and switches as itll be hard to clean it off properly. And dont use it on leather and carpets.
5. Back inside, laundry detergent, wash the cloth again.. back outside, with the cloth clean and damp again, wipe the areas where you used the vim. The vim does a great job and doesnt leave a residue if you dont use too much, but I still like to just wipe it over with a clean damp cloth anyway just in case. Sometimes itll leave like a white shitty residue if you dont.
6. I basically then just carefully vacuumed all the carpets with that long pointy attachment that everyone has
7. Clean the lintfree rag again so its perfectly clean, dry it out. Grab the mothers dash protector product, and mist your dash and door panels with it, and wipe the mothers product into the dash until it dissapears with the cloth.
8. I was done at this point but I took the lint free cloth while it was still kinda damp with the mothers product and water and cleaned out the sheet metal on the inside of the door jambs and stuff which gets forgotten about always
9. If you have rubber floor mats, throw them on the concrete, spray them with water, dump that vim stuff on there liberally, take a heavy duty boot brush or whatever and scrub them hard, it only takes like 30 seconds for each mat, and spray them out with a water nozzle.. theyll be like new.
10. If you have leather seats, just grab some leather cleaner and conditioner like I got in the pic and follow instructions.
.... anyway a lot of talking for a simple concept, I figured this out on my own and i can attest that it works. Took me under 2 hours, but thats without doing the leather stuff. I did that a separate time, that can be time consuming if you wanna do it right.
PS. dont use armorall instead of the mothers, I hear its not good cause its silicone based. Also, you dont need to clean everything with the VIM, only where you can tell that its dirty from human contact right. Just to save time.
Pics dont do it justice: its mint. And it beats paying 90 bucks to get someone to do it for you, I'll say.
