Yeah I can as well, thanks to clausey here for showing me.
What I can do for you is flatten the mapping, Takes about 3 minutes in max and there will be no stretching of the texture.

That'll definitely be helpful. I'll let you know when I'm ready to get that set up. Here's another pic: I just finished the pipes. Next on my list is to make the mirrors, remodel the piece of the hood that the ornament will sit on, finish the fuel tank hangers, and replace the flap on the quarter fenders with a textured one. Oh, and new horns too. The mirrors are gonna be a pain in the ass.

if your remaking parts for that truck to make them better, why not go balls-out with the detail?
anyway its a shame about your map, I thought you had something good goin on there. You had the right idea with the road lines, thats how luder did it, it's the only way.
I cant play this stupid game with the AI constantly brake-checking me on the 2-lane roads, it pisses me off to no end that they only have 2 lane roads and 6 lane roads and no prefabs for the 4 lane road .. the most GD common type of all.
I wish someone would shoot me some ideas how I could make the road from mojave to the desert a 4 lane road, from BP to the mountains a 4 lane road, and from the end of the mountains to Fresno a 4 lane road. I need to eliminate these fuckin straight stretch 2-lane roads, FML.

I'm not looking for incredibly detailed, otherwise I'd be using steve's model instead. It doesn't bother me as much that I don't have a completely detailed truck, it's just that I'm not satisfied with the parts already on it, either unaccurate or too low-detailed to me. The way I look at it, I'm not gonna be sitting ingame just looking at it all day, I'm gonna be in the cab driving it, and the times I do look at it from the outside it'll be by the 2 camera view, which is like, 10 feet away from the truck. Besides that, I have a shitty video card atm. What makes my reasoning so strange now is that I didn't have that view on it when I modded the flattops, I put 30k poly fuel tanks on a not so high-poly truck. I'm with you on the 2 lane road shit too, trying to drive from Fresno to the mountains is boring as shit when I can only go into 1 lane and the slow AI doesn't make it better. I looked in the map edtior, damn that pisses me off. If there was a fork prefab for that, it'd make everything better. It seems the only prefab that supports it is that intersection that SCS used for when you're entering an interstate from the end of a city or something, at least that's what I know from the ones I looked at.

So do you guys have any theories why you can't edit prefabs? Have you tried looking at other games to see if people have figured out prefabs? SCS makes games other than truck games you might be able to get ideas from.

As far as I know, pdd files can't even be hex edited. The data in them doesn't seem to have a pattern. The only program that can view them at least is map editor. I was looking around in other SCS games, hardly any luck. What looked interesting was a fork prefab in bus driver, it splits into 2 lanes, not just a bugger shoulder and median. Problem is that the fuckin ai will only drive in the inner lanes. That's pissed me off ever since haulin, when the outermost lanes with broken lines separating them are treated like shoulders... i974.photobucket.com/albums/ae223/NewFreightCascadia/goddamnit.jpg

converting stuff might be half the work, but then you still have to completely rebuild everything from scratch in the map editor, I say fuckit
do they have some good intersections in extreme trucker 2?

As much as I remember, et2 has no major highway prefabs at all. Most of the driving is 2 lane. It's actually alot more fun that way, but yeh..... it would kinda suck not having an interstate.

and then the other question would be , if you had all that shit converted, would it make sense to try to re-make the same map in a new game..probably not.. and to create something unique would be even harder I think if I ever was to do anything, id try to convert the actual rnr map into a scs game using the 3dripper.. and just have big ass 3d blocks making up a map that game is such wasted talent.. such a perfect game ruined by glitches
